Everton could miss out on Hull City winger Jaden Philogene despite having an agreement in place.
Paul Joyce reported on 9 July that the Toffees have a £16 million deal in place for the 22-year-old winger, who wants to move to Merseyside.
However, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, newly promoted Premier League club, Ipswich Town are leading the race for his signature.
It appears that they have made a better offer, in the region of £18 million, for Philogene, who has agreed a five-year deal with the club. If everything goes well, he should undergo his medical.
Everton and Crystal Palace are still in the race, and the situation is not closed yet.
Aston Villa, who sold the player to Hull City, have matching rights as well. It is up to the player now to decide his next move.
Philogene scored 12 goals in the Championship last season last season, and he is now ready to show his talent in the Premier League.
Alan Myers shared an update saying he was told that Everton have an agreement with Hull City. However, with so many clubs vying for his signature, it’s anyone’s guess at the moment where he will land.
Everton have already signed three players, two of them being permanent signings. Jack Harrison has joined on loan from Leeds United.
Sean Dyche is looking to add more quality on the wing areas and Philogene would be a fantastic addition to the side.
However, the Toffees must draw up other alternatives in case they miss out on him. It seems that Everton have a proper transfer plan in place this summer, and more signings are expected to arrive at Goodison Park, even if they miss out on the Hull City attacker.
