Everton want to sign Denmark international Jesper Lindstrom

Everton are looking to sign Denmark international Jesper Lindstrom in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, the Toffees are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing the Napoli attacking midfielder.

The 16-times capped Denmark international is facing a critical decision on his Napoli future with manager Antonio Conte, and the Naples club could sense another “great market opportunity” especially if any Premier League club comes up with a big offer.

Everton and Aston Villa are both ready to invest over £25 million for his signature.

The Toffees are likely to lose Amadou Onana in the summer transfer window to Aston Villa, and they can use the money wisely.

Jesper Lindstrom would be a superb signing for Everton

The Danish winger joined Napoli last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt and made 29 appearances in all competitions.

He made only two starts last season in the Serie A and has mostly played from the bench. He could be looking to join a club where he will be guaranteed regular game time.

It looks like Napoli could be tempted to offload him if they receive a good offer, and Everton should make an attempt to sign him.

The Toffees have Dwight McNeil as a conventional winger, while Jack Harrison has joined on loan from Leeds. Summer signing Iliman Ndiaye could be another option but he is more comfortable playing from the middle.

The Toffees also made an effort to sign Jadon Philogene from Hull City this summer but he is now heading towards Aston Villa instead.

In such a scenario, adding another player, who is comfortable playing on both flanks would be handy. Everton are likely to lose Onana to Aston Villa for a fee of around £50 million, and they must use the money judiciously.

His price tag looks a bit high for a player who barely started games last season and Everton probably need to do a lot of negotiation.
