Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara is all set to join French club Rennes in the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old midfielder moved to Elland Road last summer from Rangers for a fee in the region of £5 million.
He made 37 appearances in the Championship last season and was a key player for the Whites.
However, Leeds are looking to earn a profit by selling him to Rennes for a fee of around £8.6 million.
Initially, it was thought that Leeds would not sell him, but now several reports are emerging that he is on his way out.
According to Nancy Froston of The Athletic, the Whites are in an advanced situation for the permanent transfer of the central midfielder.
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation. Writing on X (15 July), Romano says that Kamara will undergo medical tests as new Rennes player on Tuesday (16 July).
He wrote: “Glen Kamara will undergo medical tests as new Rennes player on Tuesday. Deal done for €10m with Leeds United as revealed on Saturday.”
Daniel Farke set for major summer rebuild at Leeds United
The Whites have already sold Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur and they could lose more key players in coming weeks.
Crysencio Summerville has been chased by several top English clubs, while Everton are reportedly eyeing a move to sign Wilfried Gnonto.
In such a scenario, Leeds will suffer the blow of losing another key player. Daniel Farke must now replenish the void and make the squad competitive for next season.
The Whites have already signed Joe Rothwell on loan from AFC Bournemouth and he is seen as an ideal replacement for Kamara.
Leeds have already secured three signings. Along with Rothwell, the club has also signed Alex Cairns and defender Joe Rodon. The Whites are also showing interest in Sheffield United right-back Jayden Bogle.
