Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen is all set to leave Elland Road this summer.
According to a report from the Mirror, the 27-year-old right-back is set to join Eintracht Frankfurt after he rejected an offer to join Midtjylland.
The newspaper reported in its print edition on 18 July that Midtjylland was keen to sign the player who spent the last season on loan at AS Roma.
The Whites want a cash deal for Kristensen, but Frankfurt are favouring a loan deal for the Denmark international.
Kristensen wants to move to one of Europe’s top leagues, and thus he prefers a move to Frankfurt this summer.
He is not in Daniel Farke’s first-team plans, and the Whites will offload him. According to Hessenschau, Leeds are demanding a fee of well over £8.4 million for Kristensen.
It appears that Leeds are determined to sell him permanently, but the possibility of a loan deal cannot be ruled out.
Another Leeds United player set for Elland Road exit
Leeds have already sold Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, while several other players have left the club.
Glen Kamara, who was influential last season under Farke, has left the club this week to join French club Rennes.
The full-back situation is a mess at the moment. If Kristensen leaves the club, Leeds will be without a recognized right-back for next season.
The Whites have shown interest in signing Sheffield United defender Jayden Bogle this summer but Leeds are not willing to pay his £7 million asking fee.
Kristensen impressed during his loan spell at AS Roma, and Leeds will hope to get a decent transfer fee for him. It appears that he doesn’t want to play in the Championship, and a move to Bundesliga suits all parties involved.
In other Leeds United news, Premier League club are working on deal to sign Whites player.
