Liverpool in hunt to sign Ferdi Kadıoglu

Liverpool are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing Turkish defender Ferdi Kadıoglu.

According to a report from Calciomercato.it, a host of Premier League clubs, including the Reds, are looking to sign the 24-year-old versatile player.

Manchester United and Newcastle United are also interested in signing the player, while Serie A giants Juventus are also in the race.

Liverpool have been very quiet in the transfer window so far, but sporting director Richard Hughes has suggested that they would do business if the right player is available and at the right price.

Kadıoglu impressed in the Turkish league last season and has carried his form in the Euro 2024 Championships as well.

His performances at both club and international levels have not gone unnoticed and Liverpool are in the race to bring him to Anfield. He has earned 20 caps for the Turkey national team, and any potential suitor will have to pay around £25 million.

The asking price could be problematic for Juventus, but Liverpool will not mind paying that they feel he can be the right signing.

Kadıoglu can play in multiple positions. He usually operates as a full-back, but can also play as a midfielder and as a winger.

Arne Slot has received a balanced squad from Jurgen Klopp, and as such, he doesn’t need to make major changes to the side. Liverpool do have Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas as two natural left-backs while Joe Gomez can also play there if needed.

Unless, Liverpool are planning to sell either of them, it doesn’t seem like the Reds would be looking to sign a new left full-back this summer.

Nevertheless, his versatility could be an asset for the Reds, but whether they would make an attempt to sign him is a big question.

In other Liverpool news, Bayer Leverkusen star dreams of moving to Anfield this summer.
