Manchester City are interested in signing Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze.
According to a report from The Mirror, City are considering a move to sign the 26-year-old midfielder.
The England international has a release clause of £60 million plus add-ons, and a fee of around £68 million would be required to lure him away from Selhurst Park.
The Guardian journalist Ed Aarons shared an update on X, in which he claimed that the Eagles have yet to receive any formal offer for their star player.
Man City were also interested in signing Eze last summer but they ended up signing Matheus Nunes instead.
Aarons wrote on X: “Understand there is still interest in Eberechi Eze from Manchester City but Crystal Palace have yet to receive any offers for the England international.
“Remember that City considered bidding for Eze last summer but ended up signing Matheus Nunes instead.”
Crystal Palace should do everything to keep hold of Eberechi Eze
Eze was outstanding last season under Oliver Glasner, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in the Premier League despite missing a lot of action through injuries.
He is a stylish midfielder and impressed in parts during the Euro 2024 Champions for England. He joined the Eagles from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2020 and has made 124 appearances, scoring 26 goals.
Having already sold Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, it would come as a blow to lose Eze as well. Glasner needs his top players to stay around and help him forge a strong team.
At the same time, every player has a price, and if Man City come up with a lucrative offer, Palace could be tempted to do business and Eze could leave Selhurst Park.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad are looking to sign Kevin de Bruyne, and if the 33-year-old departs, Eze could come in as a replacement for the Premier League champions.
Tottenham Hotspur are also interested, but Eze could find it hard to reject a move to Etihad if City make an offer.
