Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Netherlands international Xavi Simons this summer.
The 21-year-old has been attracting a lot of transfer interest after his excellent displays for the Netherlands at Euro 2024.
The attacking midfielder started all five matches for the Oranje as they made it to the semi-finals of the competition in Germany.
Simons, who is contracted to Paris Saint-Germain until 2027, looked to be heading to Bayern Munich after agreeing terms with the Bundesliga outfit.
However, L’Equipe claims Manchester United have also entered the transfer race and are hopeful of securing a deal for the Dutchman.
Manager Erik ten Hag is said to be a big admirer of Simons, who was called ‘elite’ by Mundo Deportivo, and believes he would be a fine addition to his Old Trafford squad.
The Red Devils could lose Scott McTominay this summer amid interest from West Ham United, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.
They are prepared to let the Scotland international leave if they receive an offer of £40 million.
Simons would be an excellent addition for United but a deal is not expected to be easy for them.
PSG reportedly turned down a £42m bid for the Dutchman last summer and are now expected to demand a greater fee after his impressive displays at the Euros.
The Red Devils have already signed Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, while they are also in discussions over a £60m move for Manuel Ugarte.
Therefore, they may not be able to pay a huge fee for securing the services of Simons.
