Rangers are close to bringing another new player to Ibrox in the coming days.
After offloading centre-back Connor Goldson, the Gers are now looking to sign a centre-back to their ranks.
According to journalist Anthony Joseph, the Bears have agreed a deal to sign FC Twente defender Robbin Propper.
The 30-year-old defender is now expected to undergo his medical at Rangers ahead of his move to the Glasgow club.
Barry Anderson has reported that the Dutch defender is already travelling to Scotland to complete his medical for the Light Blues, and all tests should be completed by Wednesday (1 August).
While Rangers have agreed a fee for Propper, it is not clear if they have agreed personal terms with him. In all probability, they must have agreed it, otherwise the player would not have been travelling for a medical.
Rangers look to sign a new centre-back
Philippe Clement is on a mission to make a wholesome change to the squad as he looks to build a strong squad that can challenge for all major honours.
The Gers boss admitted that he needs to sell a few players before he can buy someone. Rangers are still looking to offload some of their fringe players, but it appears that they are now looking to sign players once again.
Last week, Rangers signed Vaclav Cerny who became the eighth arrival at Ibrox this summer.
Goldson’s departure will have freed up the space and wages, and Rangers have done well to bring in a new player. Rangers have added Clinton Nsiala to their ranks but he is highly inexperienced.
Propper is a vastly experienced defender and should be able to compete for the starting role.
With so many new signings coming in, one cannot help but wonder if this might spell disaster for the Gers. Signing too many players in a window does not always yield result as you also need to coach them properly and integrate them properly.
