Rangers have concrete interest in signing Vaclav Cerny

Rangers have concrete interest in bringing Vaclav Cerny to Ibrox in the summer transfer window.

The Gers have already made some good signings. Hamza Igmane, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron, Jefte, Oscar Cortes, and Liam Kelly have joined Ibrox, while Mohamed Diomande’s deal was made permanent.

Philippe Clement still feels that the Bears still need more quality signings in the summer to compete for major trophies next season.

Rangers boss has admitted that they need to offload some of their players in the coming weeks to make room for new additions.

According to a report from Rangers Review, the 26-year-old winger is a player of interest at Ibrox as Clement looks to strengthen his wide options ahead of the new season.

The 17-time capped Czech Republic international had started following the Gers on social media already, and many believe that he is a player who can add immense quality to the first-team squad.

Florian Plettenberg claims that Rangers are in the “advanced” stage to sign him on loan.

He wrote on X: “Vaclav Cerny, on the verge to join Rangers FC on loan! It’s advanced. The 26 y/o winger will receive the green light. Contract with VfL Wolfsburg valid until 2027.”

Vaclav Cerny could be an interesting signing for Rangers

The 26-year-old attacker plays for Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and he has a contract at the German club until 2027.

He joined from FC Twente in 2023 and scored four times in 22 league appearances for the Germans last season.

Cerny is a left-footed right-winger who joined the Ajax academy in 2014.

Rangers have already bolstered their left-wing position this summer by agreeing a loan-to-buy deal to sign Oscar Cortes, and now they are close to landing Cerny who will be given the green signal to complete the move.

The Gers may look to sign a new striker this summer, with Sam Lammers likely to leave the club to join FC Twente. Cyriel Dessers’s future is also under serious doubt.

The Glasgow giants could also look to bolster their defensive areas especially if Connor Goldson and James Tavernier leave the club.
