Newcastle United could be ready to sell more players in the summer transfer window.
Last month, the Magpies sold Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson to stay within the Premier League’s financial limits.
The Magpies could still look to ship out more players to free up space and wages for more additions.
Newcastle full-back Kieran Trippier is set to leave St James’ Park this summer as he is not looking to sign a new contract extension.
But he is not the only senior player who could be allowed to move on.
Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson could leave
According to a report from the Northern Echo, the Magpies are looking to sell Callum Wilson in the summer window.
The 32-year-old striker still has a year remaining on his current deal at the club, and Eddie Howe wants him to stay.
Wilson has made 108 appearances for Newcastle and scored 48 goals. He can still be a valuable player for the Magpies.
Howe would ideally like to keep him because of his attacking experience, but senior figures are pushing for him to be sold.
Wilson is being chased by Saudi Pro League clubs, and senior officials at Tyneside believe he still has some transfer value.
The striker is set to miss the start of the season because of a back problem. He is behind Alexander Isak in the pecking order at the club, and a potential exit cannot be completely ruled out.
More players could leave Newcastle United
Having sold Minteh, Newcastle now need to make a big decision about Wilson.
If they sell him now, the Magpies will have only one recognised striker, which could prompt the club to look into the market for a new one.
At the same time, it makes sense for Newcastle to keep hold of Wilson, who can be a more than reliable back-up option for the Magpies.
Sean Longstaff and Miguel Almiron are the other two players who could leave St James’ Park this summer.
