Tottenham Hotspur are showing keen interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.
Spurs could be looking to add a new midfielder this summer, especially if they can remove their fringe players.
Football London reported on 22 June that Spurs could be willing to offload players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso, Bryan Gil and Oliver Skipp.
The north London club have been heavily linked with a move for Conor Gallagher and Eberechi Eze, and it appears they are interested in McTominay as well.
According to a report from The Sun, the Red Devils could offload the 27-year-old midfielder to help balance the books and support a planned summer spending spree.
Man Utd are demanding a fee of around £40 million for the Scottish midfielder. While Erik ten Hag wants to keep the 52-time Scottish midfielder, he does not see him as a guaranteed regular starter at Old Trafford next season.
McTominay has progressed through the youth ranks at Old Trafford and has made over 250 appearances for the senior side. Last season, he managed 10 goals for the club, but a move away from Manchester cannot be completely ruled out.
Turkish club Galatasaray have also registered an interest in McTominay but he prefers to stay in the Premier League.
Spurs could face competition from Premier League rivals Fulham who have seen a bid turned down by the Red Devils. Likewise, West Ham are also reportedly keen to land him, but the Hammers have other targets, like N’Golo Kante.
The Sun claims Spurs have shifted their attention towards signing McTominay after failing to secure a deal for Gallagher. The England midfielder was seen as their priority signing but he is now set to stay at Chelsea.
Ange Postecoglou admires McTominay and believes that the United midfielder can add another dimension to the side.
McTominay is open to the idea of switching clubs in order to play regular games.
