West Ham are currently negotiating a deal to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran.
After signing Max Kilman from Wolves, the Hammers are now looking to bring in a new striker to their ranks.
West Ham have already signed Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras, but it appears that Julen Lopetegui wants to bring more quality to the attacking ranks.
In recent weeks, West Ham have been linked with several strikers, including Alexander Sorloth and Artem Dovbyk, but the Hammers have not been able to broker a deal with anyone.
According to Fabrizio Romano, West Ham have made another approach to sign Duran. The Hammers have already submitted one bid and negotiations are underway to sign him. The player has agreed personal terms with the 20-year-old player.
Romano wrote on X: “West Ham have already submitted more than one bid for Jhon Durán to Aston Villa. Understand last proposal currently worth around £35m plus 10% sell-on clause. Negotiations underway, personal terms already agreed with Durán.”
The Colombian striker joined Villa from Chicago Fire in the January transfer window of 2023 and has made 49 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals.
Last season, he made 37 appearances in all competitions and his quality is undeniable. However, Villa would be open to offloading him if they get the right price.
It seems West Ham have submitted a really good offer, and they should be pretty confident of securing his signature. The personal terms have been agreed already, and there should not be any major obstacles for the deal to pass through.
West Ham probably will look to offload Michail Antonio and Danny Ings from their squad. Antonio has been a great servant for the Hammers all these years but he is approaching the fag end of his career. He will probably love to move to MLS.
Ings came with a huge reputation for being a lethal goalscorer from Aston Villa, but he proved to be a big flop at the London Stadium.
