Arsenal are among clubs to have explored a last-minute move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, according to the Daily Mail.
The France international is reportedly keen on a new challenge and could be available for a move this summer.
Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal has shown strong interest in Coman, with Bayern valuing the player between £42 million and £50.5m.
While rumours claiming a move has been agreed for Coman to move to the Middle East have circulated, the player’s agent, Christian Emile, has dismissed these claims.
Now, the Mail is reporting that Arsenal have explored a potential swoop for the talented winger before the transfer deadline. He has also been linked with a move to Liverpool.
Despite the interest from other clubs, Coman made a cameo appearance for Bayern in their recent Bundesliga victory over VfL Wolfsburg.
The 28-year-old still has three years remaining on his contract, and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal can afford to secure his services on a permanent deal.
A loan move to north London appears more feasible, although it remains uncertain if Bayern and Coman himself would be open to such an arrangement.
With Mikel Merino’s arrival now confirmed, Arsenal are turning their attention to bolstering their frontline ahead of the transfer window deadline.
The Gunners have already made significant additions, bringing in David Raya, Tommy Setford, Riccardo Calafiori, and Merino while also parting ways with Emile Smith Rowe.
As the clock ticks down, Arsenal are expected to see Eddie Nketiah depart for Crystal Palace, while Aaron Ramsdale is on the verge of a permanent move to Southampton, with a deal reportedly worth £25m in place.
The England international’s departure has sparked interest in Espanyol’s Joan Garcia as a potential replacement.
Arsenal have explored alternatives to Coman, and they’ve looked at Brighton & Hove Albion winger Simon Adingra as an option.
Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling and Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho are also available, but a move for either seems unlikely.
