Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah open to joining Crystal Palace

It has been an underwhelming summer transfer window at Crystal Palace as they have only made two major signings in Chadi Riad and Ismaila Sarr.

However, it appears the Eagles are stepping up their efforts to bring in some new faces with just a few days remaining in the transfer window.

Palace have been chasing a deal for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, who is deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium.

According to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, the South Londoners have held talks over personal terms with Nketiah and the player is open to the move.

However, they will still need to agree a transfer fee with the Gunners.

The 25-year-old was set to join Nottingham Forest after they agreed a £30 million deal with Arsenal. But the move collapsed as the Tricky Trees couldn’t finalise personal terms with the England international.

Nketiah joined the Gunners’ academy in 2015 and made his competitive debut in 2017 against BATE Borisov. But he has failed to establish himself as an important member of Mikel Arteta’s team, and started just 10 Premier League matches last term.

Crystal Palace are also attempting to secure a deal for Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix.

The Eagles saw their opening £14 million bid rejected but they are set to make an improved offer for the 24-year-old

Oliver Glasner’s side lost Joachim Andersen to Fulham and they are seeking a replacement for the Denmark international.
