Joe Gomez could be a quality replacement for Villa. He boasts a lot of experience at the top level of football, having made 224 senior appearances for the Reds.
His time at Anfield has seen him lifting the Premier League and Champions League trophies. But the Merseyside giants already look well stocked in defence and could be prepared to sell him this summer for the right price.
However, a deal for the 27-year-old is not expected to be easy for Unai Emery’s side as Chelsea, Newcastle United and Fulham are also interested.
