Bournemouth have agreed to sell Dominic Solanke to Tottenham Hotspur for a club-record transfer fee

Bournemouth have agreed to sell striker Dominic Solanke to Tottenham Hotspur for a club-record transfer fee this summer, according to Sunday Times journalist Duncan Castles.

The Cherries had been open to selling the 26-year-old Englishman this window, and it appears Spurs have met their demands.

Solanke has a release clause of £65 million, but it is unknown whether that is the fee Tottenham have agreed to pay or whether they have successfully negotiated to bring it down.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has always had a striker at the top of his transfer wishlist having not replaced England international hitman Harry Kane last summer.

The Bayern Munich star left shortly after the Australian joined the North London club, and he had to rely on Son Heung-Min and Richarlison as his striking options last term.

Tottenham ended up missing out on the top-four and Postecoglou will hope adding Solanke to his attack will boost their chances of securing a Champions League spot come May 2025.

The former Liverpool striker bagged 19 goals and three assists in 38 Premier League games last term and will be perfect for Spurs given his quality and style of play.

Bournemouth’s current record-sale is the £41m Manchester City paid for Dutch defender Nathan Ake in August 2020, and the record is set to be broken once Tottenham complete their move for Solanke.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is now ready to bring out the chequebook to land the Englishman, and his club will go in search of their first piece of silverware since 2008 when the 2024-25 campaign starts.

The Lilywhites have already secured the services of Germany international forward Timo Werner for a season-long loan after he spent the second-half of last term with them, while sensational teenage midfielders Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray have joined in permanent deals.

South Korean winger Min-Hyuk Yang will link up with the club in January 2025 after signing a five-year contract in July, and adding Solanke to the team will be a huge boost.
