Celtic are interested in signing a new left-back this summer, and they are in the hunt to sign Liverpool left-back Owen Beck.
The Bhoys are close to landing Norwich City striker Adam Idah who is expected to sign a five-year deal at Celtic Park.
The Daily Record claimed on 13 August that the Bhoys are looking to sign a new left-back and a stopper before the end of the window, and they are pushing hard to sign Beck.
According to Anthony Joseph, Queens Park Rangers are in talks with Liverpool to sign Beck on a loan deal.
Liverpool are open to letting the youngster go on a permanent deal if their valuation is met.
The Reds are demanding a fee of around £3 million with further add-ons, and Celtic are keen to sign him permanently.
Brendan Rodgers is looking to sign someone who can challenge Greg Taylor for the starting role, and Beck is high on their priority list.
The Sky Sports journalist wrote on X: “Update: QPR are in talks with Liverpool over a potential loan deal for Owen Beck.
“Liverpool ARE open to offers for the LB & would prefer a permanent transfer, if their valuation is met. A number of EFL clubs are keen on a loan deal, with Celtic interested in a permanent move.”
The 20-year-old defender is a highly rated young talent who impressed heavily on loan last season at Dundee. His performances have attracted Celtic, and it is up to them to reach an agreement with Liverpool ahead of other suitors.
Liverpool have Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas as two reliable left-backs, and it would be really hard for Beck to get into the senior side at the moment.
With the Reds preferring to sell him permanently, Celtic should feel confident about signing him despite the fact that other clubs are in talks over a potential deal already.
