Celtic have reignited their pursuit of Norwich City forward Adam Idah. According to the Daily Mail, the Bhoys have lodged a fresh bid for the Irish international.
The Scottish champions failed in their previous attempt to secure the 23-year-old last month, but manager Brendan Rodgers remains keen on bringing him to Parkhead on a permanent deal.
Idah enjoyed a successful loan spell at Celtic in the second half of last season. He became a cult hero when he bagged a crucial goal in the Scottish Cup final victory over Rangers.
His impressive performances have convinced Rodgers of his suitability for the Hoops, who are looking to bolster their attacking options following the departure of Hyeon-gyu Oh.
Norwich are believed to be open to selling Idah for a fee in the region of £6-£8 million, with the player eager to return to Glasgow.
Idah tried to force a move away by returning late for pre-season, but the Canaries stood their ground and warned the striker about his conduct.
When the Scottish Premiership giants failed to get a deal for Idah over the line, they explored alternative options, including Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland. However, they have now returned to Norwich for their top target, who bagged nine goals in 19 appearances during his short stint last term.
Meanwhile, the Hoops have strengthened other areas with the signings of Paulo Bernardo, Kasper Schmeichel, and Viljami Sinisalo.
Celtic’s summer business could be overshadowed by the potential departure of midfield star Matt O’Riley.
Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly preparing a £25m bid for the Denmark international, with Southampton also keen on securing his services.
Europa League winners Atalanta were also in the race for his signature and could return to the negotiating table with a new bid.
O’Riley was a crucial player for Celtic last term, recording 37 goal contributions in 49 outings across all competitions. He helped the Hoops clinch the Scottish Premiership title with 18 goals and 13 assists in 37 league appearances.
