Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has reportedly rejected a move to Aston Villa this summer.
This is according to Corriere dello Sport who report the Belgian has his heart set on Napoli only.
Chelsea are looking to raise funds by selling the 31-year-old in this transfer window.
The Lions are said to be ready to pay Lukaku’s release clause of £37.5 million but the player only wants to join Napoli.
The 31-year-old, who has earned 119 caps for his country, spent the previous season on loan at Roma, where he scored 13 goals in 32 Serie A matches.
Aston Villa have had a very busy summer transfer window as they have brought in the likes of Amadou Onana, Jaden Philogene, Ian Maatsen and Samnuel Iling-Junior.
But they are not done yet as they want to add another striker too.
The Midlands outfit already have Ollie Watkins as their number one centre-forward, who struck 27 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions last term.
They have a capable deputy in John Duran but are looking to sell him for the right price.
Unai Emery’s side want to sign Lukaku who boasts a lot of experience at the top level of football, having played for clubs like Manchester United, Inter Milan and Chelsea.
But signing him for £37.5m wouldn’t have made a lot of sense as he has now reached the age of 31.
The Lions also look well-stocked for the position and so unless they offload Duran, bringing in Lukaku may not be a good idea.
West Ham United were interested in the Colombian but they have now completed the signing of Niclas Fullkrug.
