Crystal Palace could remain very busy in the final few weeks of the transfer window.
Oliver Glasner is constantly looking to bring in new faces at Selhurst Park, and the Eagles could be forced to delve into the transfer market if they lose some of their key players.
Newcastle United have had two bids rejected for Marc Guehi as Palace maintain any potential suitor will have to pay £65 million to sign him.
The Magpies are preparing another bid for the 24-year-old centre-back. If they manage to secure a deal for him, Palace will look to reinvest into the squad to sign at least one centre-back if not two.
At the same time, Fulham are showing interest in signing Palace defender Joachin Andersen, although they need to double their offer to sign the 28-year-old defender.
Fabrizio Romano has shared that Palace are looking to sign Ivory Coast defender Odilon Kossounou, in case Guehi leaves.
Crystal Palace eye move for Odilon Kossounou
Glasner has already earmarked Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix as a potential option if Guehi leaves.
While he remains one of Palace’s top priorities this month, they have now listed Kossounou as another option. The 24-cap Ivory Coast centre-back plays for Bayer Leverkusen.
He won the Bundesliga title last season under Xabi Alonso, and can also play as a right-back if needed. Last season, he made 34 appearances in all competitions for the German club, and would be a fantastic signing for Palace.
Romano wrote on X: “Understand Crystal Palace are considering Odilon Kossounou as well as Maxence Lacroix as centre back options. It all depends on Marc Guehi exit with Newcastle set to bid again soon.”
However, Palace will only make a formal move if Guehi leaves the club. According to Bild, Palace need to pay around £17.1 million to sign Lacroix, which should not be a problem.
