Everton ready to offload Mason Holgate

Everton have signed five players this summer but Sean Dyche could still be looking to add a few more players before the end of the transfer window.

With the takeover issue still unresolved, the Toffees do not currently have enough funds to make big-money signings.

Everton have two loan slots—one domestic and one overseas—and should aim to fill them.

They are reportedly exploring a move for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, while Chelsea striker Armando Broja could be another option for them.

The Toffees could look to offload a few players to free up space and wages for potential new loan signings.

According to a report from Inews, Everton are also looking to shift players out, and Dyche is ready to offload Mason Holgate.

Both Holgate and Michael Keane have been made available for transfer, but as of now, the Toffees have yet to receive any formal offers.

Holgate spent the second half of last season on loan at Sheffield United, and he doesn’t feature in Dyche’s plans for next season.

The 27-year-old joined the Toffees from Barnsley in 2015 and has made 149 appearances for the club in all competitions.

The Toffees sold Ben Godfrey this summer to Atalanta, and Dyche is ready to sell another senior defender.

James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite remain his first-choice pairing for next season, while the defensive areas have been bolstered following the signing of Jake O’Brien from French outfit Lyon.

However, if Everton sell both Holgate and Keane, they could be forced to sign one more centre-back on loan.

It will be interesting to see what Everton do with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has a year left on his current deal at Goodison Park. He hasn’t signed a new deal and has been tracked by Premier League giants Manchester United, among others.
