Federico Chiesa set to sign Liverpool documents

Liverpool are close to confirming the signing of Federico Chiesa from Juventus.

The Reds have already agreed a deal worth around £10.9 million, and the player will sign a four-year deal at Anfield.

Chiesa, who will turn 27 next month, has almost completed the first part of his medical and should be able to complete his move before the end of the day.

According to Fabrizio Romano, both clubs have documents ready to get signed.

Chiesa travelled to Merseyside on Wednesday after the deal was struck. He was frozen out by Thiago Motta, and Juventus were ready to let him go.

Romano wrote on X: “First part of medical tests almost completed for Federico Chiesa at Liverpool. Juventus and Liverpool have all documents ready to get it signed.”

Federico Chiesa would be a fantastic signing for Liverpool

Liverpool initially wanted to sign a number six, and the Reds made an attempt to sign Martin Zubimendi. However, they failed to lure him away from Real Sociedad.

The Reds turned their attention towards adding a goalkeeper and secured the signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili. He will stay at Valencia for the rest of the season on loan.

Chiesa will be a part of the first-team squad, and he will add tremendous depth and quality to the side.

Liverpool have enough depth in their attacking areas. Arne Slot has Luis Diaz, Mo Salah, Harvey Elliott, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo as major attacking options, and Chiesa will add an extra dimension to the side.

He is a vastly experienced player and if he can recapture his old form, it could turn out to be a masterstroke signing from the Reds.
