Celtic midfielder Kwon Hyeok-kyu could leave Parkhead in the coming days.
According to a report from the Scottish Sun, Hibernian are close to securing a “stunning” loan deal for the midfielder.
The 23-year-old South Korean joined Celtic from Busan I-Park on a five-year deal back in July 2023.
He is often dubbed as ‘the Korean Rodri’ in his homeland and everyone expected him to become a big success at Celtic Park.
However, he has struggled to break into Brendan Rodgers’ side, and the Bhoys are likely to let him go.
The report claims that Hibs boss David Gray is desperate to bring in new faces and he has earmarked Hyeok-kyu as a potential option.
The midfielder was loaned out to St Mirren last season, where he made a strong impression under Stephen Robinson, playing eight times.
Celtic have enough depth and quality in midfield, and Rodgers will not mind sending him on loan. It will also free up the space for any potential new addition if the Hoops want.
Meanwhile, the Bhoys are expected to be busy in the final few weeks of the summer transfer window.
They have already made a strong start to the season, and Rodgers wants to add more quality players before the end of the window.
Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Adam Idah from Norwich City, who will sign a five-year contract at Parkhead. He is undergoing his medical ahead of his move.
There has been a lot of interest in Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley but the Hoops are pretty relaxed about his situation. He was simply sensational for the club last season, and Celtic have no plans to sell him.
Serie A club Atalanta have made several attempts to sign the Denmark midfielder, but they have not come close to matching Celtic’s asking price.
