Arsenal have made a winning start to the brand-new campaign after beating Wolves 2-0 on Saturday (17 August) at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners could be busy in the final few days of the summer transfer window as they look to secure the deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino.
They could be in the market to sign a new defender, especially full-backs, if one or two players leave the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Polish left-back Jakub Kiwior could leave the Gunners in the summer window.
The 24-year-old has been frequently linked with a move away from the north London club, but it seems the Polish defender could be on his way out in the final few days of the window.
He was not included in the squad for the Premier League’s season opener against Wolves. He was not injured. Romano says that while he is not close to securing a deal with any club, there is a possibility that he could leave.
Romano wrote on X: “Jakub Kiwior, out of Arsenal squad for technical decision. No injury. He could still leave before the end of the transfer window but nothing close yet with any club, I’m told. Open situation.”

Kiwior joined the Gunners in the January window of 2023 and has made 38 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Mikel Arteta does have enough options at left-back and, as such, can do without Kiwior. Oleksandr Zinchenko is the first-choice left-back at the club, while Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori can also play there.
Left-back Kieran Tierney has returned to the club after a loan spell while Takehiro Tomiyasu can play as a left-back.
It is highly unlikely that Arsenal will still look to sign a new left-back if Kiwior leaves, but they could look to bolster other areas if needed.
Kiwior joined the Gunners for a fee of around £16.6 million and has a contract until 2028. Arsenal are expected to demand a high transfer fee for him should he depart.
