Liverpool recently changed their club crest across their social media channels and pages, with the decision dividing fans, and Jamie Carragher has weighed in with his opinion, telling the club to bring back the old one as the current one does not look right despite the desire of the club to be different.
Liverpool have slowly moved away from its previous crest, which featured a shield design and a depiction of the Shankly Gates.
A fan took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to suggest that the change in badge could be a cost-cutting measure to save printing costs on various merchandise, and the former Liverpool replied, demanding a revert to the former one.
Can we have our proper badge back please @LFC 🤞🏻 https://t.co/ufLwb6Ihhr

I love club badges of the big European clubs & we are one of them. When I look at this picture ours just doesn’t look right. I know we like to be different at times but the last one was great. pic.twitter.com/7HISMqKlUo

While Liverpool have retained the traditional old badge on the club’s official emblem, it has been replaced with the new crest across their social media platforms and online.
The former badge has been the unique identity of the Anfield club since 2012, with the Liver Bird encased by the eternal flames popular across the globe and easily recognised.
It has remained on the back of their kits, but most of the fans want it back as their profile pictures online, and more social media campaigns calling for its return are expected to emerge in the coming days.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will listen to Carragher and their fans, but challenging for the Premier League and other trophies is top of their plans for 2024-25 after replacing Jurgen Klopp with Arne Slot.
They have brought in Italy international forward Federico Chiesa from Juventus, while Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will join them next summer after a deal was struck with Valencia.
Liverpool have won their opening two games of the new Premier League campaign and will look to make it three consecutive league victories when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
