Leeds United are on the verge of signing St. Gallen right-back Isaac Schmidt, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Patrick Berger.
Negotiations are advanced between both clubs, with the Elland Road outfit ready to pay €3 million for his services, including add-ons.
Four-time Bundesliga winners Werder Bremen are also keen on Schmidt, but Leeds are leading the race for the 24-year-old and are set to beat the Germans to his services.

The Swiss full-back is expected to feature for the Swiss Super League club tonight in their Europa Conference play-off against Trabzonspor, and Leeds fans will be watching their soon-to-be new signing in action.
Schmidt is expected to jet into England tomorrow afterwards for a medical, and the move is expected to be sealed before the transfer deadline.
While the former Switzerland youth international can play as a winger, Leeds are recruiting him to help provide cover and competition for Jayden Bogle.
Schmidt boasts excellent touches and a good vision, with his ability to change pace easily a key strength of his.
He was in the top 1% for progressive carries amongst full-backs in the top 30 global leagues last season and can also play as a wing-back if need be.
The Leeds target is comfortable on the ball and in possession, is aggressive and is a strong presser.
He regularly creates chances for those in attack with his excellent pinpoint crosses, and he has the potential to become a better player under manager Daniel Farke at Elland Road.
Schmidt is yet to feature for the Switzerland senior national team, but a move to Leeds could help boost his chances, especially if they secure Premier League promotion at the end of the season.
He is also eligible to play for Nigeria and Germany, and they both could look to lure him if he impresses in England over the coming months.
