Liverpool still remain the only club in the Premier League who have yet to make a new signing this summer.
The Reds, however, could remain busy in the final few weeks of the summer transfer window, as there could be a few ins and outs.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, and they are working on a deal to bring him to Anfield.
There could be a few departures as well. Aston Villa are eyeing a move to sign Joe Gomez while Sepp van den Berg is being targeted by a host of European clubs.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest Liverpool transfer update, in which another player could be on his way to leaving Anfield.
Liverpool forward Fabio Carvalho set to join Brentford
Fabio Carvalho spent the second half of last season on loan at Hull City where he made a strong impact.
It was expected that he would play a key role in Arne Slot’s system, but it now appears that Liverpool have decided to offload him.
Carvalho impressed during the pre-season for the Reds, and as a result, Liverpool are demanding a high transfer fee for the Portuguese winger.
Romano says that Carvalho has accepted the move, and he will undergo his medical shortly.
He wrote on X: “Fabio Carvalho to Brentford, here we go! Liverpool sell Carvalho on a permanent deal.
“Understand fee will be £20m fixed plus add-ons as part of the package. Carvalho has accepted, as A Bola reports; he’s set to undergo medical tests at Brentford soon.”
Paul Joyce of The Times have shared that Liverpool have agreed a package worth £27.5 million inclusive of add ons.
In addition, Liverpool have also inserted a massive 17.5% sell on clause. Fulham receive 20 per cent of profit above £5 million.
Ideally, Liverpool should have kept him and given him more chances. But Michael Edwards has a reputation for selling players at a high price, and the Reds probably felt that the money offered was lucrative.
Liverpool should now look to sign another attacking midfielder to replace him.
