Manchester United have opened talks to sign Sander Berge

Manchester United have made some cracking signings this summer and they are looking to bring in more players.

The Red Devils have signed Leny Yoro from Lille and Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and have been in talks with several players, including Manuel Ugarte.

Erik ten Hag wants to add more grit and dynamism in the middle of the park, and a new midfielder at Old Trafford is a priority.

According to Dharmesh Sheth, Man Utd are looking to sign Burnley midfielder Sander Berge before the end of this month, and they have made some initial progress.

The Sky Sports journalist claims that the Red Devils have held initial talks with Burnley to sign the 26-year-old midfielder.

The 46-time capped Norwegian international has three years remaining on his deal at Turf Moor, and Man Utd are exploring the conditions of the deal.

The Red Devils have also started discussions with Monaco to sign Youssouf Fofana who has only a year left on his current deal.

Sheth wrote on X: “Manchester United have held initial talks with Burnley over midfielder Sander Berge.

“United exploring conditions of a deal. 3 years left on contract. Dialogue open with Monaco over Youssouf Fofana after initial approach. Final year of contract.”

Sander Berge could be a smart addition for Manchester United

Berge is a vastly experienced midfielder who showed his quality during his time at Sheffield United. In four seasons at the club, Berge made 109 appearances for the Blades and scored 16 goals before joining Burnley last summer.

He made 40 appearances last season and scored two goals. Berge would find it really hard to reject an offer from United, so a deal could be on the cards here.

The former Genk star is a box-to-box midfielder who will bring energy in the middle of the park. Fofana would also be another interesting addition and could be come in at a decent price.
