PSV Eindhoven manager Peter Bosz has confirmed that French defender Oscar Boscagli wants to join Brighton & Hove Albion before the summer transfer window closes tonight, but he is hoping the move falls through.
The Seagulls have added Yankuba Minteh, Ibrahim Osman, Mats Wieffer, Malick Yalcouye, Brajan Gruda, Georginio Rutter, Matt O’Riley and Ferdi Kadioglu to their ranks so far, but manager Fabian Hurzeler wants to further bolster his options, especially at the back.
Boscagli fits the profile of player Brighton are looking for, and the 26-year-old would love to move, but it could be too late.
“I see that he wants to go to Brighton, but that hasn’t happened yet. I hope he stays,” Bosz said concerning the PSV star.
Bosz over Boscagli: ,,Ik zie dat hij graag naar Brighton wil gaan, maar dat is tot nu toe niet gebeurd. Ik hoop dat hij blijft."

Boscagli plays as a centre-back, left-back or defensive midfielder, playing a huge role to help his side win the Eredivisie title last term, weighing in with three goals and four assists in 33 league games.
He has also won two Dutch Super Cups and a Dutch Cup with PSV and is now looking to prove his quality in the Premier League with Brighton.
The Seagulls are one of the four clubs to have won their opening two games of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign, and finishing in the top-four could be on the horizon for them.
They face Arsenal tomorrow at Emirates Stadium and leaving with a point or all three will send a statement of intent to every other English top-flight club following a 2-1 victory over Manchester United last weekend.
It is one of the reasons Boscagli wants to join them, and he knows the move could boost his chances of breaking into the France national team.
He played for their under-17s, under-18s, under-19s, under-20s and under-21s but has not earned a call-up to the senior side and may need to move to the Premier League for that to happen.
A move looks unlikely this summer and Brighton could return for his services in January or next summer if they still need him.
