Rangers defender Ben Davies is set to leave Ibrox within this week.
This has been a massive summer transfer window for the Gers, with Philippe Clement making a wholesome change to the squad.
The Bears have signed as many as eight new players, and there could be more arrivals in the final few days of the transfer window.
But for that, Rangers need to offload a few players. One of them is Ben Davies.
According to a report from the Daily Record, Birmingham City are closing in on a deal to sign the 29-year-old centre-back.
The Blues are looking to take him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Birmingham are hoping that the deal can be finalised in the next 24 hours so he can play at Leyton Orient.
Four Lads had a dream confirmed that Davies will be leaving Ibrox, and he could be the first of few exists this week.
Davies joined Rangers in the summer of 2022 from Liverpool. He didn’t play a single game for the Reds and spent time on loan at Sheffield United.
At Rangers, he has managed only 56 appearances for the club, and he hasn’t been consistent enough with his performances.
However, he is a vastly experienced defender who knows the Championship well, and the deal suits all parties involved.
Davies is on a big wage at the Glasgow club and his departure will help the Gers sign a few players in the final few days of the window.
Rangers have been heavily linked with a move for Almeria defender Kaiky Fernandes. The Bears have already made a £650,000 loan bid with the option to make it permanent for £6 million.
The likes of Todd Cantwell, Ianis Hagi and Alex Lowry are training with the B team after being told they are surplus to requirements. Similarly, Rangers could listen to offers for Scott Wright, Ben Davies and Rabbi Matondo.
