West Brom reject Southampton bid for Tom Fellows

Southampton have made a bid to sign West Bromwich Albion forward Tom Fellows.

This has been a massive transfer window for the Saints, with the club signing over ten players this summer.

Russell Martin still wants to add more players to the ranks before the window ends on Friday.

The Daily Mail reported that Southampton are set to make a £10 million move for the 21-year-old forward.

He was “outstanding” for the Baggies in the 2-1 win against Stoke City last weekend. The Baggies sensation set up both goals and he is seen as the club’s best asset.

Leicester City and Everton showed interest in signing Fellows, but it appears that Southampton have taken the lead in the race to sign him.

According to a report from Express and Star, Albion do not wish to sell their highly-rated talent, although they are braced for late transfer window interest.

John Percy now reports that Southampton have made a £10 million offer, but it was rejected immediately by West Brom.

He wrote on X: “West Brom have rejected a bid of around £10m from Southampton for winger Tom Fellows (first call on interest from Sami Mokbel). Offer regarded as well below his market value. Other Premier League clubs monitoring situation but WBA will demand a big fee.”

Southampton want to bolster their forward areas and they have money to spend after Charly Alcaraz moved to Flamengo.

The Daily Mail claims that the Saints are also looking to sign striker Yuri Alberto from Corinthians along with Fellows before Friday’s deadline.

Fellows has progressed through the youth ranks at West Brom and made 47 senior appearances, scoring five goals.

West Brom will do their best to keep him at the club, and they have made the stance clear. The Saints need to pay a high transfer fee to lure him away from the Hawthorns.

Southampton could also look to revive their interest in signing Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal. Wolves were interested in signing Ramsdale, but the deal is now off. This could open the door for Southampton to sign him.
