West Ham agree £15m deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka

West Ham have reached an agreement to sign Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Florian Plettenberg claimed earlier today that verbal agreement has been reached between the two clubs, while personal agreement has been reached with the player.

Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that a deal in the region of £15 million has been struck for the 26-year-old defender.

Man Utd have given the green light for the transfer to go through, and the defender will travel to London to complete his medical, which is scheduled for Sunday.

Romano wrote on X: Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham, here we go! Verbal agreement in place for right back to join West Ham from Man United as planned.

“Understand medical tests already booked on Sunday for AWB! Fee will be £15m. Man United authorized AWB to travel… Mazraoui, joining soon.”

In a separate tweet, Romano has claimed that Noussair Mazraoui is now set to join United, where he will sign a five year deal at Old Trafford.

There seem to be a few little details that need to be sorted out. According to David Ornstein, talks over the length of the deal are ongoing, while the deal is still subject to Wan-Bissaka finalising his Manchester United termination.

This has been a massive transfer window for the Hammers, who have completed their seventh signing of the summer.

West Ham have signed him on a loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent next summer.

Wan-Bissaka has made 190 first-team appearances for United since joining from Crystal Palace for an initial £45 million in 2019. He has dropped down the pecking order at Old Trafford and is now on his way to joining the Hammers.

Signing a right-back has been a priority for the Hammers after Ben Johnson left the club to join Ipswich Town, and they are now signing an experienced Premier League defender.
