West Ham have reached an agreement to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler on the transfer deadline day.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 27-year-old midfielder will join the Hammers on loan with the obligation to buy next summer.
West Ham will have to pay around €20 million to sign him permanently next summer.
The transfer guru broke the news on X that Soler will travel to London today to undergo his medical ahead of the move. West Ham will cover the player’s salary as per the agreement.
The Hammers have signed as many as nine new players this summer, and Soler could be the last one to have joined the club in this window.
Julen Lopetegui must be very pleased with how the transfer window has unfolded, as the club have backed him properly to bring players of his choice.
West Ham must focus on shipping out fringe players
Soler has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham throughout the month, and finally, the Hammers have secured his signing.
West Ham needed to offload some of their fringe players to make room for a new addition.
Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd and Maxwel Cornet are all likely to depart, but very few people had thought that the Hammers would offload James Ward-Prowse.
The England midfielder, known for his dead-ball abilities and incisive passing, is now heading towards joining Nottingham Forest on loan.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on 29 August that Southampton are close to reaching an agreement for Cornet, but now Crystal Palace have joined the race as well.
Soler was keen to join the Hammers this summer, and he would be a fantastic addition to the side.
The Spain international enjoyed his best football at Valencia where he scored 36 goals in 226 appearances for Los Che. He then moved to the French champions in the summer of 2022 and made 63 appearances in two seasons at the club, scoring eight goals.
