Wolves are looking to sign a new defender before the transfer deadline.
According to Jacob Steinberg, West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd has been earmarked as a potential target.
The 28-year-old centre-back could be allowed to leave the Hammers in the next 24 hours, and Wolves are looking to get him on a season-long loan deal.
Wolves and West Ham have already done business this summer, with Max Kilman joining the Hammers early in the window.
Julen Lopetegui will not mind offloading the Moroccan defender, and it remains to be seen if a loan deal can be agreed quickly.
Steinberg wrote for The Guardian live blog: “Wolves are interested in signing Nayef Aguerd on loan from West Ham. The Morocco centre-back is out of favour at the London Stadium and has emerged as a target for Gary O’Neil’s team.”
Busy end to the transfer window for both Wolves and West Ham
Wolves are looking to sign a defensive midfielder and they have agreed a deal to sign Andre from Fluminense.
According to Ben Jacobs, Wolves are paying a fee of around €22 million upfront and an additional €3 million will be paid in bonuses.
The 23-year-old Brazilian will not travel to England to undergo his medical and complete his signing before the transfer deadline day.
For West Ham, this has been a terrific window, and they have added some quality players to their ranks.
Lopetegui will still look to add one more player, with Carlos Soler being heavily linked with a move.
But before that, the Hammers are ready to ship out some of their fringe players. Maxwel Cornet could move to Southampton on loan, and Kurt Zouma could leave the club as well.
Aguerd has made 58 appearances for the Hammers since joining the club in the summer of 2022, signed by David Moyes. He came with a lot of promise, but has failed to live up to the hype.
