Less than two weeks are remaining in the transfer window and Wolverhampton Wanderers must step up their efforts to add a few more players to the squad.
They have already completed moves for Jorgen Strand Larsen, Tommy Doyle, Rodrigo Gomes and Pedro Lima but reinforcements are still needed.
The Premier League outfit are looking to add a new winger and have reportedly set their sights on Ajax’s Carlos Forbs.
Now The Athletic’s David Ornstein is saying Wolves have submitted a proposal to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal.
The Molineux side want an initial loan move for the 26-year-old with the option to buy included. They are also prepared to cover the majority of the player’s salary.
Dialogues reportedly continue between the two clubs but a deal is expected to be difficult due to the finances involved.
Ramsdale fell out of favour at Arsenal last season following the arrival of David Raya.
But he is too good to be a benchwarmer only and therefore wants to move to another club this summer.
The England international has made 89 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners, keeping 32 clean sheets in the process.
Jose Sa is currently Wolves’ number one goalkeeper who started 35 Premier League matches last season. But the Portuguese kept only four clean sheets and he has also turned 31.
Ramsdale would be an upgrade on Jose Sa but it remains to be seen whether they can pull off a deal for the young goalie.
