Celtic star Cameron Carter-Vickers not injured despite leaving Parkhead in moon-boot after Rangers game

Celtic centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers was spotted wearing a moon boot as he left Parkhead following the 3-0 victory over Rangers on Sunday, sparking injury concerns.

However, the USA international has not suffered an injury and is expected to be fit when Celtic return to action against Heart of Midlothian on September 14, according to the Sun.

Carter-Vickers picked up a knock in his left foot against St Mirren last week, and while he went on to play 90 minutes against Rangers, the Hoops star was made to wear the moon boot as a precautionary measure.

The former Tottenham Hotspur defender has been omitted from the USA 24-man squad for their friendlies against Canada and New Zealand this month, which comes as a boost, as he will now get much-deserved rest over the next two weeks.

Carter-Vickers trained after the St Mirren game, but manager Brendan Rodgers left him out of the session on Friday to ensure he was available to face Rangers, and the decision proved sensible as he played a key role in helping to down the Light Blues.

While he briefly pulled up in the second half following a challenge, he returned to action shortly afterwards, helping Celtic make it four Scottish Premiership wins out of four in 2024-25.

The Bhoys are looking to make it four consecutive titles this season, and they are on course to do that as the gulf between them and Rangers was glaringly on display yesterday.

They are top of the table at the moment, with a superior goal difference separating them from Aberdeen, and they could maintain the position until matchday 38 given their quality.

Celtic lost 16 players in the summer, including loan exits, while eight new additions were made, and they remain the team to beat in Scotland going forward having further strengthened their squad.
