Arsenal secured a crucial 4-2 victory against Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
At one point, the Gunners were cruising towards victory when they took a 2-0 lead, with goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Then, two goals from James Justin, including one spectacular volley made it 2-2. The Gunners created chances after chances, but they came up against an immovable force called Mads Hermansen, who produced some superb saves.
But deep in stoppage time, a Wilfred Ndidi own goal in the 94th minute and a late strike from Kai Havertz sealed all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side.
With that victory, Arsenal moved level on points with Manchester City and are just one point behind league leaders Liverpool.
Chris Sutton suggests that the Gunners are showing enough signs of being potential champions this season after their dramatic win. With Rodri out for Manchester City and Phil Foden not playing enough, Arsenal could have a great chance of winning the title this season.
“Is it written in the stars for Arsenal to win the Premier League this season? I didn’t say but Rodri is out, Foden isn’t playing that much,” said Sutton on BBC Radio 5 Live, as quoted by BBC Sport.
Martin Keown was full of praise for Arsenal attacker Trossard, saying he was worth every penny.
It is too early to say whether Arsenal can win the Premier League title, as Manchester City, even without Rodri, are still the favourites to lift the trophy again.
Liverpool have started the season really well, and they could be in contention if they stay in the top three and with a close point gap after 20-odd games.
Likewise, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Newcastle United or even Chelsea can challenge for the top four and are capable of picking up points from City or Arsenal. But the Gunners are indeed showing great signs early on.
