Crystal Palace outclassed Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers 2-1 on Tuesday to reach the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
The Eagles are yet to claim a victory in the Premier League, suffering two defeats and two draws so far.
However, they picked up a good victory against QPR and that could give them a confidence boost.
Eberechi Eze, who left QPR for Palace in 2020, produced a blockbuster display on his return to Loftus Road.
The 26-year-old set up Eddie Nektiah for his first goal for the Eagles before getting in on the act himself by scoring the winner on 64 minutes.
Oliver Glasner was left hugely impressed by the winger’s performance as he called him ‘absolutely top’ player.
The Austrian boss said (per the Independent): “Who’s a better player than Eze? For me he’s absolutely top, if he was luckier this season he would have five or six goals.
“He’s always dangerous because he has the quality and ability at 1-1, he’s such an unbelievable finisher, in some situations he can improve, he’s a guy who can always score and he’s someone who everyone likes.
“This is why he’s on the pitch because he’s able to score goals.”
Eberechi Eze has been excellent for Crystal Palace since joining the club in 2020.
He has scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists in 130 appearances in all competitions so far.
Despite injury issues, the 26-year-old made 27 Premier League appearances last term.
Eze has also made a positive start this campaign, scoring thrice in six appearances in all competitions.
Palace will hope the talented forward continues his good form when they host Manchester United in a tricky fixture this weekend.
Erik ten Hag’s side made an unconvincing start but made a big comeback after the international break, claiming back-to-back victories over Southampton and Barnsley.
The Eagles are likely to face a tough challenge against United, and they must produce a special display to take any points against them.
