Celtic winger Daizen Maeda has been outstanding for the club ever since he joined the club.
The 26-year-old winger has been in fantastic form this season, managing three goals in all competitions, including one in the SPFL clash against Rangers prior to the international break.
Crystal Palace forward Daichi Kamada has developed a telepathic bond with the Bhoys attacker, both on and off the pitch.
The duo will be in action for Japan in their crucial World Cup double-header qualifiers against China and Bahrain this week.
Maeda will be joined by his club teammate Reo Hatate in the Japan national squad, but once again, Kyogo Furuhashi misses out.
Kyogo is arguably one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership, if not the best, but the Japan manager, Hajime Moriyasu, keeps ignoring him.
Both Kamada and Maeda are likely to start in today’s game in Saitama. Kamada was full of praise for Maeda ahead of the game.
“The player I’d hate to face in a game is Daizen because I don’t like coming up against players who run a lot,” said Kamada, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“We have a brilliant relationship on and off the pitch. We sit together on the bus, we eat dinner, lunch and breakfast together. We always go to the sauna together.”
Kamada moved to Selhurst Park in the summer transfer window from Lazio, and the versatile attacking midfielder has one goal and an assist to his name already.
Maeda is an exceptionally talented player, and he always performs in big games.
He joined the Hoops initially on loan from Yokohama Marinos, and the move was later made permanent. He has scored 32 goals in all competitions for Celtic in just over 110 appearances.
Brendan Rodgers has assembled a strong squad for this season, and he will hope that both Maeda and Kyogo will maintain their impressive form throughout the season.
In other Celtic news, Chris Sutton has been seriously impressed by one Bhoys player v Rangers.
