Dan James raves about Leeds United summer signing Manor Solomon

Leeds United winger Daniel James has showered praise on summer signing Manor Solomon.

The 25-year-old winger joined the Whites in the summer transfer window on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, and James has backed him to shine at Elland Road.

Leeds lost Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter in the transfer window, forcing Daniel Farke to sign a replacement. The Yorkshire club signed Largie Ramazani and Solomon towards the end of the window.

James believes that Solomon would prove to be an exciting addition to the Leeds squad. Solomon made his debut against Hull City and set up Mateo Joseph for the opening goal in the 2-0 win in the Championship a week ago.

Solomon has been plagued by injury issues in the past 12 months, and James believes that Leeds fans can expect more from the Israel winger if he stays fit.

James told the Second tier podcast (via YEP): “I know Manor well, brilliant player, one that I’m sure the fans will be very excited by. He’s been very unlucky with injuries. I hope he can stay fit now.”

Summerville and Rutter were exceptional for Leeds last season, and their form earned them moves to West Ham and Brighton this summer. It would be a big gap to fill for both Solomon and Ramazani, but they are capable.

Leeds made a stuttering start to the season, drawing their opening two games, but they have found their form, winning the next two. It is a long race, and Leeds can take plenty of experience from last season to secure promotion to the Premier League this term, although it won’t be easy.

Archie Gray and Glen Kamara also left the club this summer. James missed the game against Hull City with a hamstring injury and didn’t join Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon, Charlie Crew and Karl Darlow with Wales. He is still expected to be fit to play against Burnley this weekend.
