Newcastle United have made a solid start to the new Premier League campaign as they have secured seven points from their opening three matches.
The Magpies outclassed Southampton 1-0 despite playing with 10-man for the majority of the game.
They were held to a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth but returned to winning ways at the expense of Tottenham Hotspur before the international break.
Eddie Howe’s men now face a tricky away fixture at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has predicted a 2-2 draw between the two teams.
Predicted Newcastle starting XI vs Wolves
Newcastle are not likely to make many changes to the team that won 2-1 against Tottenham.
Nick Pope, who has kept one clean sheet in three league matches so far, will continue as their number one goalkeeper on Sunday.
In front of the 32-year-old, we are expecting Tino Livramento, Dan Burn and Llyod Kelly to feature in defence. However, Fabian Schar is back after serving his three-game suspension and though Emil Krafth did well in his absence, the Swiss footballer is likely to be paired with Burn this weekend.
In midfield, we are predicting a big change. Sandro Tonali, who joined the club in a £55 million deal last year, has returned from his 10-month ban and has featured in Newcastle’s last two matches. The 24-year-old proved his fitness during the international break with Italy, and so Eddie Howe may start him for the Molineux fixture ahead of Sean Longstaff. Midfielders Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton should keep their starting berths.
We are not expecting any changes in attack, with the Magpies likely to go with the same front three of Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Harvey Barnes this Sunday.
Predicted XI: Pope; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Kelly; Tonali, Bruno, Joelinton; Gordon, Isak, Barnes.
