Greg Taylor has praised Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi after the Bhoys made a fantastic start to the season.
The Hoops have won all four SPFL games and have also progressed to the next round of the Scottish League Cup after winning against Hibernian.
Celtic are heading into the international break in high spirits after beating arch-rivals Rangers 3-0 at Parkhead last week.
Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi scored in the first half, while Callum McGregor scored a thunderbolt in the second half to put Celtic five points ahead of Rangers.
Taylor was full of praise for Kyogo, who simply can’t stop scoring in big Old Firm games. The left-back says that Kyogo has been “unbelievable” for the club ever since he joined.
Taylor said to the Daily Record (page 46): “We feel so lucky to have them in the team. Kyogo has been unbelievable since he first signed.
“He’s pointing at me after he scores but there’s one man that deserves the credit there and it’s him.”
Kyogo has been superb for Celtic
The Japanese joined the Hoops in the summer of 2021 for a fee of around £4.5 million.
He scored 20 goals in all competitions in his first season and took his game to another level under Ange Postecoglou the following season, managing 34 goals in all competitions.
He had a slight dip in form last season, and his future at the club came under speculation after Brendan Rodgers signed Adam Idah on loan. Kyogo still managed 19 goals in all competitions.
While Celtic have signed Idah permanently this summer, Kyogo is still expected to play a major role for the Scottish champions. Rodgers can rotate both strikers to keep the dressing room happy.
It was Kyogo’s first goal of the season, and Rodgers will expect another cracking season from him. During the summer transfer window, Manchester City showed interest in signing the 29-year-old striker, but Celtic didn’t receive any formal bid for him.
