Jamie Carragher predicts scoreline of Manchester United vs Tottenham game

Jamie Carragher believes Ruben Amorim will succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool

Manchester United have had a difficult start to the new campaign despite an excellent summer transfer window.

Winning just two of their opening five Premier League matches, the Red Devils are currently sitting 11th in the standings with seven points.

Following a goalless draw at Crystal Palace, Erik ten Hag’s men also failed to get back to winning ways against Dutch outfit FC Twente in midweek.

Christian Eriksen scored the opener for United in the Europa League clash at Old Trafford. But the Dane turned from hero to villain in the second-half as he lost the ball in defence that allowed Sam Lammers to score the equaliser on 68 minutes.

The English giants couldn’t find another goal as FC Twente held out for a memorable draw in Manchester.

United have no time to dwell on that disappointing result as they are set to host Tottenham Hotspur in a blockbuster Premier League game on Sunday.

Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher says Erik ten Hag’s side are struggling to score goals but concedes Spurs also have their issues. Therefore, he feels the outcome of the match will be a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford this weekend.

Carragher said on Sky Sports: “Man Utd are still struggling to score goals and Tottenham always concede, so I am expecting a draw between these two at Old Trafford”.

Tottenham will likely be a big test for Manchester United, who have failed to make a good start despite signing some big players in the summer.

Manager Ange Postecoglou faced a lot of criticism after their disappointing 1-0 loss to Arsenal earlier this month.

However, the Australian boss has since led his side to three consecutive victories in all competitions against Coventry City, Brentford and Qarabag, scoring eight goals in the process.

United will have home advantage but Spurs are the team in form.

Erik ten Hag’s men must produce a special performance to secure all points against their London rivals on Sunday.
