Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch produced a stellar performance for the Netherlands on Tuesday night.
The Dutch managed a 2-2 draw against Germany in the UEFA Nations League, where Gravenberch produced a midfield masterclass, registering an assist in the process.
The 22-year-old has become an important player for Liverpool this season under Arne Slot, and he has played in all three games so far.
Gravenberch also made one “picturesque” pass to Xavi Simons, but unfortunately, it didn’t lead to a goal. It could have been one of the assists of the season.
The Dutch midfielder took to Instagram to share his message – “Great few days”.
Manchester United summer signing Joshua Zirkzee responded to his post by using a fire sign and a love emoji.
Ryan Gravenberch could be a huge player for Liverpool
Liverpool signed Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023. He made 38 appearances in all competitions last season under Jurgen Klopp but didn’t look too comfortable in his system.
This summer, Liverpool looked to sign a new number six, and they targeted Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. The deal didn’t materialise, and Arne Slot focussed on developing Gravenberch instead.
The Dutch midfielder is bubbling with confidence at the moment, and his performance for the Dutch national team is an indication of his transformation. In such a short time, Slot has helped him become a fabulous midfielder.
Liverpool could still look to sign a new midfielder in the January window or next summer, as Slot is unconvinced with Wataru Endo, who played a big role under Klopp.
Gravenberch has played an important role in all three Premier League games and has more or less cemented the number six position.
Liverpool will face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League after the international break, and they will be without Harvey Elliott, who is set to be out for a while after breaking his foot.
