Celtic strolled to a 3-0 victory over Rangers at Parkhead yesterday, with goals from Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and Callum McGregor ensuring the hosts maintained their impressive start to their title defence.
The Hoops have won their opening four games of the 2024-25 Scottish Premiership campaign and are hoping to make it four titles in a row.
Rangers have won just one of the last 11 league titles in the Scottish top-flight after the SPL and SFL merged in 2013 to form the Scottish Professional Football League, with Celtic winning the remaining ten, and they will be looking to equal Rangers’ record of 55 titles this term.
The Hoops have dominated Scotland football for a while now, winning 16 of their last 30 derbies with Rangers, drawing four and losing the remaining ten.
The Bhoys have won nine of the last 12 meetings between the Old Firm rivals, losing just once, and former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele could not believe their dominance against Rangers on Sunday, calling the game a waste of time as there was always going to be one winner.
The Frenchman took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to the result at full-time, and he did not hesitate to mock the Ibrox club, with the gulf in quality between both clubs now wider than it was before he left in 2018.
Why are we still playing them…??🙄😂 Waste of time 😂😂 But enjoying to see them crash again and again 😂😂😂😂 https://t.co/uSQ6n5XTCV

Rangers were the second-best team from the start to the end of the game yesterday and are clearly not capable of challenging Celtic this season.
The Hoops are favourites to win the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup too, and the Bears could struggle to make anything meaningful out of their campaign.
Celtic travel to Ibrox to face Rangers on January 2 on matchday 21 and will fancy their chances of leaving with all three points and quickly wrap up the title.
