Crystal Palace played out a goalless draw with Manchester United in Saturday’s Premier League match in South London.
The Red Devils entered the game as favourites but were forced to share the spoils after an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
The England international denied Alejandro Garnacho in the first-half before making two more vital interventions in quick succession.
He kept out Matthijs de Ligt’s downward header before denying Lisandro Martinez with his leg.
Palace were much better in the second-half as they created a few chances of their own. And though the game ended in a stalemate, Oliver Glasner’s men will be the happier of the two sides.
National media were effusive in their praise of Henderson for keeping his team on level terms with a string of excellent saves.
The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel criticised United’s profligacy in front of goal but he was also left hugely impressed with the England international’s brilliance in goal.
Mokbel rated the 27-year-old’s performance 8/10, the highest of all the players from both teams.
Henderson started his career at Manchester United but left to join Crystal Palace in the summer of 2023 for more first-team opportunities.
Injury issues meant he was limited to only 18 Premier League starts last term. However, he has made a brilliant start this season, featuring in all top-flight matches and keeping a clean sheet.
The former United goalkeeper will be hoping to continue his good form when his team face Everton at Goodison Park next weekend.
