Everton picked up their first point in the Premier League after earning a 1-1 draw against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
The Toffees got off to a flying start when Iliman Ndiaye scored a superb goal, his first in the Premier League.
The big question was, can Everton hold on to the lead? They got the answer in the 73rd minute when Stephy Mavididi equalised for the Foxes.
Nedum Onuoha was not impressed with the defensive duties of James Tarkowski and Michael Keane for Leicester’s equaliser.
Speaking on Final score, the BBC pundit said: “The corner went into a good area, but for the two Everton centre backs James Tarkowski and Michael Keane to let it drop and not deal with it, that is a big shame.
“I said earlier that they were comfortable but they failed to deal with it.”
The same problem for Everton continues
The game was played under a tough weather condition, and Everton had another opportunity to pick up all three points.
For the third game in a row, they have taken the lead, but they couldn’t hold on to it. Michael Keane has been slammed by pundits this season for his poor performances.
He should be axed once Jarrad Branthwaite returns to the side from his injury problems.
Sean Dyche said after the game that it was a very positive performance from his side and praised James Garner, who was ill prior to the game.
In the previous two games, Everton took a 2-0 lead, and they still lost 3-2. Also, they were knocked out in midweek by Southampton on penalties. The pressure was mounting on Dyche.
Another defeat would have been a catastrophe, but they should be happy to get away with a point here. Jesper Lindstrom was impressive but he was guilty once again for missing several good chances.
