Liverpool welcome Nottingham Forest to their Anfield fortress on Saturday afternoon, looking to maintain their perfect start to the 2024/25 season.
The Reds have been lethal in their first three games, comprehensively dispatching Ipswich Town and Brentford before putting three unreplied goals past Manchester United to claim maximum points at Old Trafford.
Liverpool have also kept three consecutive clean sheets and are one of only two Premier League sides yet to drop points thus far.
They’ll head into the weekend contest as overwhelming favourites to come out on top.
Here’s how Arne Slot could set up his team to face Forest.
Predicted Liverpool Starting Line-up
Slot has only made one change from his starting line-up since his competitive debut victory over Ipswich Town.
He started the game with academy graduate Jarell Quansah lining up alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence, but that partnership only lasted 45 minutes.
Ibrahim Konate took his place at half time during the 2-0 victory and has retained his spot in the starting line up since, forming a solid partnership with Liverpool skipper Van Dijk.
Apart from the Quansah-Konate swap, Slot has named the same starting line-up in each of Liverpool’s last two games, and Alexis Mac Allister’s return to the fold suggests that trend will continue this weekend.
The World Cup winner survived an injury scare while on international duty with Argentina but has passed a fitness test and is expected to anchor the midfield alongside Ryan Gravenberch on Saturday.
Luis Diaz has been in fantastic form for the Reds, notching three goals and an assist in the opening three games of the season, and will retain his spot on the left flank.
Dominik Szoboszlai is expected to line up behind the striker while Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah holds down the fort on the right flank.
Diogo Jota has started all three games for Liverpool so far. He has returned a goal and an assist and is expected to lead the line again, with Darwin Nunez serving a suspension.
Summer signing Federico Chiesa should start the game on the bench alongside midfielder Curtis Jones, who returned to training after a spell on the sidelines.
Predicted Liverpool XI:
(4-3-3): Alisson; Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahim Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold; Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch; Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah.
