Liverpool headed to the international break after an excellent 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.
Mohamed Salah produced an outstanding performance as he twice set up Luis Diaz before getting his name on the scoresheet after 56 minutes.
However, the Egyptian has entered the final year of his contract at Anfield and will be free to speak to potential new employers from January.
Former Wales international Robbie Savage doesn’t understand the logic of handing Salah a new deal as the 32-year-old has been incredible this season.
Writing in his column for the Mirror (September 7, Page 67), Savage said: “Liverpool should be handing out a new deal to Mo Salah now. He has come back fresh and sharp. Liverpool had that famous front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Salah.
We wondered how they could replace Mane and Firmino but they got Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz! Salah is the last of the fantastic three. His displays have been incredible. He is as sharp as ever and you’ve got to be tying him down now. He has come back in brilliant form. What reason would you not offer him a new contract?
Mohamed Salah has turned 32 but he is still scoring plenty of goals for Liverpool.
The Egypt international has been excellent for the Reds this season. He has scored three goals in three Premier League matches, creating three assists in the process.
The forward has been a loyal servant for the Merseyside giants over the years. He has helped his team win the Premier League and Champions League trophies, scoring 214 times in 352 appearances across all competitions.
Liverpool must tie him down to a new contract soon. He is a world-class player and any club would love to sign him.
There is huge interest from Saudi Arabia and they could make a massive offer to tempt him to come to the Pro League.
