Sean Dyche must axe Everton player after dismal performance v Crystal Palace

Everton picked up their first win of the season last week after they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Goodison Park.

The Toffees were awful in the first half, and they went 1-0 down, with Marc Guehi scoring for Palace. In the second half, the performance improved and two goals from Dwight McNeil swung the game in Everton’s favour.

Everton will face high-flying Newcastle United next at Goodison Park, and they will have to be properly prepared for this clash.

Sean Dyche should look to make some adjustments to the squad, and it is high time he drops Jesper Lindstrom to the bench.

The 24-year-old started the game against the Eagles, but he was hooked by Sean Dyche at half-time. It was a dismal performance from him, and Michael Ball has questioned his attitude.

The Mail on Sunday were also unimpressed with his performance, and they gave him a 5/10 rating. The Danish midfielder has made three starts in a row and hasn’t quite hit the standards many expected of him.

The decision for Dyche has been made easy after Jack Harrison produced a brilliant performance after coming off the bench. The Leeds United loanee looked sharp and hungry and kept his game simple.

Harrison provided the assist for McNeil’s second goal, and the Toffees boss should continue with him against Newcastle on Saturday.

Lindstrom is a highly-talented midfielder but it hasn’t worked for him until now. The Danish midfielder is capable of strong performances and it is up to Dyche now to find a system that can get the best out of him.

There have been many occasions where Lindstorm has found himself in a dangerous position around the goal areas, but he hasn’t been able to make the best use of his situation.

Having said that, Harrison doesn’t have a reputation for making wise decisions either. Everton fans are well aware that Harrison often lacks the end product, but he is high on confidence at the moment.

It will make a lot of sense if Harrison is given a chance ahead of Lindstrom against the Magpies.
